Painter Megan Cosby currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Cosby graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Art Studio. Cosby combines a design sensibility with a fine art focus.
"The intersection of fashion design and art has influenced my paintings. The more I delved into this genre I realized it was the people and their stories that I found more interesting than simply design itself. I combine a design sensibility with a fine art focus. This allows me to personalize the subjects I paint. They became more than just mannequins. I am interested in how people represent themselves. Through clothing and abstract patterning I develop a storyline for each figure. Elements of mood and disposition are outwardly represented through a subject's dress and environment."
Her portfolio includes publications, feature cover stories, specialty design projects and television news spots. Cosby's paintings have been featured in multiple galleries along with museum, public, private and permanent collections.
